When asked in a "Breakfast Topic" on a popular World of Warcraft/Blizzard (WoW's parent company) website whether or not the players watched other eSports, quite a few responded positively and commented on the experience of being a gamer watching big eSports events.  These players felt excitement - and sometimes, gained knowledge - from watching.  Even if eSports were not their top priority, these gamers still found ways to connect with the events and make an experience out of watching fellow gamers play these computer games.

"My first ever eSports experience was watching SCII championships. I was really impressed by how entertained I was by it. And the production quality was amazing since it was such a big event. I enjoyed watching the tournaments at Blizzcon too. Even though I don't understand what is going on half the time in Arenas, I do enjoy watching the PvP. (Especially when there is a druid on the team.)  But I guess my answer to this question is, I don't actively watch eSports on a regular basis, but the big events are really exciting. I can really get into the big, intense tournaments. The smaller stuff on Twitch I don't get into as much.  I haven't tried watching Hearthstone yet, but I should. I can see how it could be exciting."

"For all the "I'd rather play than watch" people out there.  I get where you're coming from.  However, there are times when you may not be able to access a game, but you can watch others play on YouTube, Twitch, etc.   I've learned a lot of tips and tricks from the popular Hearthstone streamers, and feel I am a better player for having adopted some of their play styles.  There are a bunch of funny Hearthstone moment videos on YouTube that amuse me to no end."

"I'm a big fan of Esports. I dont play starcraft, so I have a hard time following it, and WoW PvP is tough to follow despite playing it for a long time, but the tournaments are some of my favorite things at Blizzcon. Im excited for heroes Esports, pro hearthstone is fascinating, hell Ive even been watching the Pokemon VGC streams lately."

"Started watching Hearthstone streams and tournaments about a year ago... Now it's like a drug I can't get rid of. I must watch about 15 hours a week of streams / videos, mostly Hearthstone. (Don't worry I often do other things at the same time, I'm not entirely unproductive.)"
