eSports continue to rise in popularity every year with no signs of slowing.  While the eSports community is something familiar (or at least, understandable) to most gamers, its value isn't always inherent to those less familiar with gaming.  As eSports continue to gain more and more attention, it is important to me that they not be viewed in a negative light.  More importantly, I would like it to be understood just how strong a community we gamers can be.

Even those of us that do not participate in eSports or play our respective games at the top of their difficulty level still belong to a community.  We have meaningful interactions, we have strong bonds, and we have years of memories.  We may spend time behind our computer screens, but we do so with like-minded individuals who love what their doing just as much as we do.  We put in hours of work and participate in heated discussions because this is our passion.  We are different, but we are the same.

We are gamers.
